Illnesses

Royal Owl Academy strives to prevent the spread of illness. If your child becomes ill you will need to pick them up within 2 hours. Parents you are in charge of making sure you have back-up or alternative care in place when your child is sick. We are unable to accommodate sick children and they cannot be in our care if sick and there is no doctors note provided. Please keep your child home if they are sick, not eating, unusual behavior, excessive coughing and running nose or have any of the following:

·         Fever of 99.9 degrees or higher before child care (98 degree under arm)

·         Complaints of severe pain

·         Signs or symptoms of illness like: wheezing, uncontrolled cough, persistent crying, unusual lethargy, and irritability

·         Any illness contagious treated with antibiotic (24hours after started antibiotic)

·         Any Rash with or without fever or behavior change

·         Diarrhea more than 2 within an hour; runny, watery, or bloody stools within 12 hours

·         Scabies or other infestations

·         Vomiting 2 times or more within 24 hours

·         Eye discharge or pink eye (yellow or white); until 24 hours after treatment is needed or when discharge clears if no treatment

Your child may return when they are fever free or symptom free for 24 hours or if you have a doctor’s note.
